Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia finished the Italian league in third place. Now the team faces another important challenge - the Final Four of the Champions League. The tournament in Łódź will start on Friday and that day the Italians will face Halkbank Ankara in the semi-final.
- There is always one goal here: victory. This applies to every aspect - domestic competitions and the Champions League. The goal was clear from the very beginning: winning the trophy. Of course, as players we are aware of what awaits us, especially in the Final Four - said Semeniuk in an interview with Interia Sport.
If Perugia manages to beat Turkish Halkbank, they will play for the title with Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie or JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel. The grand finale is scheduled for Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Regardless of what happens on the pitch in Łódź, Semeniuk will have a special break between club and national team games. During this break, he will marry the woman of his heart.
- First I have to finish playing in the club, return with the team to Perugia and officially close the season. We are still waiting for the day of the ceremonial, final dinner, because that is the tradition here. Then I will try to fly to Poland as soon as possible. But I am not even thinking about any holidays like the Maldives or Egypt, because this summer I have a wedding and reception. I will devote myself to this 10 days 100%, because later I will only be able to help my future wife by phone - explained Semeniuk in Interia Sport.
The volleyball player's fiancée is Katarzyna Dybciak. The couple met when Semeniuk was playing in the junior team of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. They first met on a bus, and the athlete immediately took an interest in the woman. He decided to find her profile on social media and send her a message.
In 2022, the lovers got engaged. They originally planned to organize the wedding for 2024, but ultimately decided to postpone the ceremony due to the Olympic Games.
